Barkjon was an elderly squirrel slave at Fort Marshank. He came close to being beaten to death by Hisk in the quarry, but was saved by the timely intervention of Martin the Warrior.

Barkjon's son Felldoh and Martin's open defiance against Badrang the Tyrant inspired Barkjon, along with Keyla the otter and Hillgorse the hedgehog, to plot a slave rebellion. He was respected by the slaves, and warned Druwp at one point. Barkjon probably clashed with Druwp more often as well.

He survived the final Battle of Marshank, and though nothing is known of his fate, he most likely finished his life peacefully.
