Botarus was a male large bittern. He was a friend of Madd and he had founded her wounded in her head. Botarus was sometimes as crazy as his friend and he hated vermin. At first Botarus also suspected Tagg, thinking that he was a vermin but quickly changed his mind unlike Madd. He guided the otter to the edge of the woodlands.
