Braggio Ironhook was a big, loudmouthed ferret with a hook replacing his missing left forepaw. He was ambitious and vain, and challenged Razzid Wearat for captaincy of the Greenshroud. He was also more intellegent than most vermin - even Razzid noticed this - and it was he who came up with the idea to fit wheels on the Greenshroud.

When Razzid returned to the Isle of Irgash from a failed raiding trip, badly wounded and apparently dying, Braggio took advantage of this and proceeded to win the other vermin to his side. He also authorized the repairing of the wrecked Greenshroud, altering it with new specifications. When the job was completed, Braggio threw a party for all of the vermin on Irgash, to celebrate his new ascension to captaincy; however, a fully recovered Razzid appeared out of nowhere with a hatchet, and Braggio lost both his title and his head.
