Brother Sedge was a male resident of Redwall Abbey and an assistant of Friar Hugo in the Abbey kitchen. He tried to help Abbot Mordalfus and the other Abbey dwellers solve the riddle found behind the Founder stone. He also helped copy the map and directions to be sent to Matthias and aid in the search for the young ones. Brother Sedge took cooking very seriously and was not always pleased when his utensils were used as weapons by Constance and Cornflower, but he helped often during the siege of the Abbey by General Ironbeak.
