Bruffy was a Foremole, and like most Foremoles, he was down-to-earth, logical and rustic. Bruffy organized the sewing of camouflage garments for Rakkety Tam MacBurl, Skipper of Otters and the Long Patrol hares going with them. Bruffy took part in the defense of Redwall Abbey; along with Sister Screeve he slew a fox, one of Freeta's gang.
