Burdill Straightfurrer was a little male mole of Southsward. He was a grandchild of Furpp Straightfurrer and the brother of Porgoo and Grumbee. Burdill lived with his siblings and uncle in a hollow hill near Castle Floret.

The little moles and their grandfather were viciously attacked by members of Urgan Nagru's horde, and were rescued by Mariel, Dandin, Bowly Pintips and Meldrum Fallowthorn the Magnificient and his leveret squad.

Burdill and Grumbee later packed an early breakfast for their recuers when they went "eckertoimerin" or "reconnoitering".
