Reptiles and amphibians in the Redwall universe are typically (but not exclusively) villains, and include toads, frogs, lizards, snakes, newts and tortoises. Snakes, toads and monitor lizards are generally evil. Some reptiles and amphibians, such as tortoises and small frogs, are harmless and kept as pets.
