Claymore
The Claymore (from "claidheamh mòr", meaning "great-sword" in Scots Gaelic) or Highland Sword is either a long sword with a long double-handed hilt sometimes adorned with a pommel stone, or a sabre-like weapon with a basket hilt. The weapon was also reffered to as a "hand-and-a-half" sword with a blade usually just over 1.5 meters (4 feet) and weighing about 2.61 kg (5 3/4 lbs.). The claymore used by Rakkety Tam MacBurl is likely to have been the latter.
