The Claymore (from "claidheamh mòr", meaning "great-sword" in Scots Gaelic) or Highland Sword is either a long sword with a long double-handed hilt sometimes adorned with a pommel stone, or a backsword with a basket hilt, which would be smaller than the two handed sword. The weapon had a blade usually just over 1.5 meters (4 feet) and weighing about 2.61 kg (5 3/4 lbs.). The claymore used by Rakkety Tam MacBurl is the latter.
