Craklyn was a female squirrel of Redwall Abbey. She was the best friend of the mousemaid Piknim, and also a very close friend of Tansy.

As a young squirrelmaid, she was very clever and good at reading and writing, and was an invaluable asset in finding the Tears of all Oceans and unraveling their analogous riddles. Craklyn and Piknim were very active and agile and loved to race each other. They would often use the search for the pearls as an opportunity to challenge each other up or down the stairs and throughout the Abbey.

As an adult, Craklyn became the Abbey Recorder after Rollo. Together with Tansy, Shad, Friar Butty, and Diggum, she discovered the Treasure of Verdauga Greeneyes among the ruins of Kotir. She was the official keeper of the medals which had been forged from the treasure (A job she did not take kindly to, due to the sheer number of them). These medals honored all those who had fought during the Battle of the Ridge of a Thousand.
