Figgs was a tiny ottermaid orphaned by rats under the command of the Foxwolf Urgan Nagru. She was never told about the death of her adoptive 'father', who died when a mast fell on her. Joseph the Bellmaker, Rufe Brush, Durry Quill, Foremole, and Hon Rosie rescued her, her 'sister', and her 'brother'. Her 'sister' was a mousemaid named Wincey and her 'brother' was a young squirrel named Benjy. They lived on an island with a cove of wrecked ships, though she, her brother and her sister originally came from Southsward.

While playing around when Pearl Queen's crew was rationing food, Figgs bit one of Hon Rosie's footpaws, thinking it was food.

Figgs, her sister and her brother were later adopted by Gael Squirrelking and Squirrelqueen Serena after the Battle for Southsward.
