Groop was a female mole Dibbun of Redwall Abbey. When Sister Doral played her fiddle during an afternoon tea on the Abbey lawn, Groop and the other Dibbuns danced joyously. They even coerced the birds, Pandion Piketalon and Brantalis Skyfurrow into joining them, and Groop and squirrelbabe Taggle tried to teach them their dancing techniques.
On one occasion, Groop and Grumby were caught by Brinty, Girry, Tribsy, Sister Snowdrop and Old Quelt trying to throw the Geminya Tome into the Abbey Pond. They claimed that they had wanted to use it as a boat. Both Dibbuns were chided by Abbess Lycian.
