Francisco the Fisherman was a poor fishermen from Malta, and the father of Francisco. After Ben and Ned washed up on a shore near his encampment, they instructed him to take part in the local piazza cross-carrying procession, and to provide the fish on Good Friday for Lent.

In exchange for the kindly advice, Francisco let the pair use his fishing boat. When rowing past the White Ram, Ben and Ned saved the life of Joshua Shimon from a shark; however the fishing boat was destroyed in the process. Eli Bar Shimon gave Francisco one of his lifeboats, as well as 4 gold coins.
