Friar Gooch was the head Redwall Abbey Kitchen Friar during the times of Abbot Apodemus. A molemaid, Furrel, was his assistant. Gooch helped to break the door of the Kitchen to get out Dibbuns, who had locked themselves there. He and Furrel took care about feeding the defenders during the vermin attack against the Abbey.
