Furpp Straightfurrer was an old mole of Southsward and the uncle of Burdill, Grumbee and Porgoo. Furpp was a patriarch of the mole colony, which was in a hollow hill near the Castle Floret. He and his nephews were attacked by a band of rats. Mariel Gullwhacker, Dandin and Bowly Pintips tried to save the old mole and his nephews, but they failed. Finally they were rescued by Meldrum Fallowthorn the Magnificient, Foghill, Coltvine and Thurdale. Later Furpp told them about Urgan Nagru, Silvamord and their horde.
