Grall was a black gull of Sampetra who served Ublaz Mad Eyes. Along with three of his companions, he flew to Mossflower Woods with a drawing of the Tears of all Oceans made by Conva for Lask Frildur.

While in Mossflower, he eventually did meet up with Lask and Romsca.

One of his crew was killed at Redwall Abbey by Gerul after the four gulls attacked.

Grall died from exhaustion traveling back to Mad Eyes.
