The iron and cord was a weapon used by Cluny the Scourge and his horde in Redwall. It was composed of sections of iron grave railing connected to a short cord. To throw it, the user whirled it around their head, and released it, flinging it at high speeds, and proving to be deadly. It is said they could be thown very high, so much so that Abbey-dwellers on the walltop could no longer see it. When in the air, it emitted a high pierced whistling, warning the target of the imminent danger.
When one of these landed intact, Constance the badger picked them up and threw them back. It was said she could throw them at much greater speeds, and much higher accuracy than any rat.
The Iron and Cord appears in Redwall.
