The Istrani Wolves is also the name of Book Three in Voyage of Slaves.

The Istrani Wolves was a group of all-female smugglers who operated along the coasts of Sicily and Italy. Led by Janos Cabar, they assisted Ben and Ned in getting to the Santa Filomena Convent. Their battle cry was 'Howoooooyaaaaah!', and they used two horse-drawn wagons to transport their smuggled goods. Magda, an old woman of the Istrani Wolves, used smoke bombs to confuse the officials of the coast.
