Joshua Shimon was the grandson of Eli Bar Shimon, captain of the White Ram, and son to Jacob and Miriam Shimon. During the year 1703, Joshua was on a "summer cruise" aboard the White Ram, whereupon he was saved from the sharks by Ben and Ned.

He was known for his reckless attitude and good cooking.
