Lady Merola was the Badger Lady of Salamandastron, wife of Lord Hightor, and mother of Sagaxus and the great-grandaughter of Russano the Wise. Lady Merola's closest companion was the hare Dunfreda. Along with Lady Rosalaun she is the only badger lady to be wife of a Mountain Lord.
