Laird Mactalon was the ruler of a clan of falcons that are located in the Northern Mountains, or "High Crags". He was the father of Rocangus, and came to his son's rescue (along with five other falcons) by vanquishing an entire horde of crows, who were attacking not only Rocangus, but also the travelersThrugg and Dumble. He also spoke to the Wild King MacPhearsome regarding the Flowers of Icetor prior to Thrugg and Dumble's arrival to the golden eagle's lair.
