Mullein Braggwuth Barshaw was the Commanding Scout Major (later promoted to General) in the Long Patrol of Lord Asheye, with whom he was close friends. He was also the comrade of Colonel Thropple. Along with Asheye, Mullein assisted with sending Mad Maudie to find Gorath the Flame. He was known for being an expert scout and strict disciplinarian.
Mullein is one of only two hares known to hold the rank of general, the other one being Dorothea Duckfontein Dillworthy.
