Brian Jacques

Brian Jacques has received an Honorary Fellowship from Liverpool John Moores University for his work in children's literature!

Last year, Brian was voted one of the top 10 Merseysiders and received a portrait by artist Micheline Robinson, and in 2005 he received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of Liverpool.

Brian told the Liverpool Post:

"I’m delighted to have been recognised by my own city. As a boy who did not go to grammar school and had to leave at 15 to get a job without any further education, this is indeed a very great honour of which I will be very proud."

Other recipients of Honorary Fellowships include TV presenter Esther Rantzen, songwriter Richard Stilgoe, and film producer Norma Heyman.

Congratulations Brian!
