The Northlands are quiet, hard-weathered lands to the north of Mossflower Woods, mostly home to vermin bands and armies, as well as birds and hares. The far North is often the source of much war and conflict. Corsair attacks are frequent, and on the Northeastern Coast is the formidable vermin fortress, Fort Marshank. Beyond the Great Northern Sea was Riftgard and the Land of Ice and Snow.
The Northlands are the place of origin of Martin the Warrior, and he described them as a region of mostly rocks, grass and hills. Many creatures from the northlands spoke with a thick brogue not unlike a real-life Scottish accent.
