Petros was a fat bearded Greek aboard the Fleiger Hollander who served as the ship's cook. He was mean, violent and cowardly, and was thoroughly hated by the other members of the crew. Upon the discovery of Nebuchadnezzar, he took him in as a galley boy, and consequently treated him cruelly.
After trying to steal an emerald from Captain Phillip Vanderdecken, his hand was crushed by Vanderdecken's boot, physically impairing him for the rest of the ship's journey.
During a storm, a large wave crashed onto the ship, taking Petros with it and killing him.
Petros, Scraggs, Sindh, Vogel, and the Captain were eventually cursed by the Angel to roam the seas for eternity.
