The Rapier is a type of sword primarily used by shrews. It consists of a long, thin blade primarily suited for thrusting, which leads down to a basket hilt. Several shrews would also join together in a wheeling circle, thrusting out at exposed enemies. The rapier could also be thrown, as demonstrated by the traitorous shrew Fenno and Log-a-Log Groo when he slew Riggan the slave catcher. The shrew rapier was made out of steel and was very difficult to break. The shrew rapier was described as a short sword in Mattimeo (book).
