Rockwood was a huge stone outcrop in the middle of scorching flatlands, that was dotted with gnarled trees and stunted bushes. There was also a small pond, and several of the trees were laden with fruit, including apples and pears. Its sole inhabitant, and self-proclaimed ruler, was the short-eared owl Udara Groundslay. Many creatures passed the area, including roving bands of hares and hedgehogs.
