Scringe was a ferret slaver in the band of Slagar the Cruel. He was armed with a sword and could play drums. He was among Slagar's aides until the fox deserted his band at the ruins of Loamhedge Abbey. A mutiny broke out among the slavers, and the stoat Halftail killed Scringe.

In the TV series, Scringe didn't die, and was one of the five vermin to be sent south by Matthias.
