Scummy was a plundering stoat aboard the Seascab. He had some healing knowledge. He also was a friend of Grubbage. Scummy had skill in poetry, writing a poem about his Captain, Plugg Firetail, and Prince Bladd after they were killed. He and Grubbage were the two pirates who had fixed on Plugg's tail with a pine resin after it was shorn off. He, along with Grubbage, had to walk behind Plugg Firetail to make sure his tail did not fall off. It is unknown if he was killed in battle.
