Scurl Droptail was a lying, deceitful crested newt in southern Mossflower Woods. He met the slave train of Slagar the Cruel, and offered to free them with a pretentious key if they rewarded him. After they had given him their few valuables, he admitted to not having a key and fled with their belongings.

The next day Scurl was punished when the parents of the same slaves led by Matthias and Orlando the Axe caught him with their children's belongings (subsequently confiscating them, but promising to return them), and questioned him on Slagar's whereabouts. After the interrogation, he fled north and was never seen again.
