Sergeant Patterson was a young, jolly police officer in Chapelvale and the partner of Constable Judmann. He had curly, red hair and spoke with the Scottish dialect because he came from the town of Coldstream. He helped to search for the possession documents of the Winn family. Patterson lived next to the police station and he traveled around the county.
