Skinpaw was a male weasel who was a member of Slagar the Cruel's gang. Of them, he was the only one who had actually been in a traveling show, so his experience helped when the gang impersonated one to infiltrate Redwall Abbey.

After the slavers held a mutiny, Halftail wounded him. Skinpaw was one of the only five members of the gang who survived until the very end of the slaves' journey.
