Snowstripe was the son of Russano the Wise and Lady Rosalaun. He was younger than his sister Melanius by three seasons. Snowstripe and Melanius listened to Russano's story of Lord Brocktree.

It is assumed that either he and/or his sister ruled Salamandastron in later years.
