Spingo was the favorite daughter of Nokko, chieftain of the Gonfelin Thieves, the mate of Bisky and the mother of Andio. She was a pretty mouse despite her tattered attire and she could sing and dance very well. She was also very energetic.

Spingo was well-trained in the ways of fighting, being taught by her father since she was a babe. She wielded sandbags, lances, and a strangling noose. Her speed with the noose was quick enough to slice through a big turnip.

She met Bisky after he escaped from Painted Ones and the two quickly became friends. She and her tribe assisted the Guosim and Redwallers who were ambushed by Painted Ones. After the victory against the Painted Ones, she helped save Dwink from Jeg.

Along with Bisky, she searched for Dubble after he chased after Jeg, whom he had vowed to slay. She found him with Zaran the Black who was attempting to dig and cause the collapse of the Doomwyte's cavern below. She assisted in the digging, but was buried in a tunnel collapse, given limited air only through two small holes. Bisky and Dubble went back to Redwall Abbey to get the assistance of the moles to dig Spingo out.

After the woodlanders won the battle, Spingo later relocated to Redwall Abbey.
