Splidge was a fox, who with Ringworm, Blitch, and a fourth, unnamed fox, harassed travelers on the path, which ran towards the north. Splidge and other foxes tried to attacked Thrugg and Dumble, but they failed. They were forced to carry Thrugg's bag and later Thrugg and Dumble let them free.
