A sword is a weapon commonly utilized in battles. It typically consists of a long straight or curved blade with one or two sharp edges and a handle or a hilt, which may or may not be decorated with stones.

The most famous sword is The Sword of Martin. However, many other creatures also use swords, especially searat captains, vermin horde captains, and warlords such as Gabool the Wild. Swords are relatively rare and very prized weapons and are often the objects of envy or pride.

Skilled craftsmanship is often required in the proper smithing of a sword. Badger Lords of Salamandastron, such as Boar the Fighter, are traditionally considered expert weapon-smiths and their swords are especially effective and powerful in battles.
