In case for some reason, anyone was confused, the terms "corsair" and "pirate" are synonymous. --LordTBT 07:48, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
infamous battlesword?
Edit
Why does it say 'infamous' not 'famous'?
Scimitar vs cutlass?
Edit
A Scimitar and a cutlass are pretty much the same thing. A cutlass leaves more of a "crude" image, while a scimitar might actually be more of a well-crafted blade, but both are nothing more than a curved sword. FlinkyTheStoat 14:56, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
- You're right, but I think cutlasses are cooler because the name is simpler and makes it seem modest. I was just pointing that out since I read about it and I found it to opposite of Raventail. Skrabb-a-log

From what I've read elsewhere, a cutlass is slightly straighter than a Scimitar; a scimitar also tends to reverse-taper to a broad end, being thinner where the blade connects to the hilt, whereas a cutlass maintains blade thickness throughout. If anyone's read or knows anything contrary to this let me know.
