Do you think Urgan Nagru can be a marlfox? I found some descriptions of Urgan Nagru, which looks like a marlfox, but it is in french, so I don't know if it the same in english!

The Marlfxoes were not at the island when Samkim was there, so presumeably the Marls came from elsewhere, settling the island. Who knows- maybe the marls were from the Land of Ice and now, only Nagru broke away from the group and got a horde and attacked southsward (It would explain their mottled caots, wouldn't it?
