Toran Widegirth was an otter and the Head Cook of Redwall Abbey. He was the little brother of Bragoon, exceptionally large and he wore an apron. He was very fond of Martha Braebuck and a friend of Abbot Carrul. He didn't like if somebody trespassed his kitchens. Toran wrote a poem about his brother and Saro for Harvest Feast many seasons ago.
