Treerose was a pretty red squirrelmaid and a long time resident of Redwall Abbey.
In her youth, Treerose used to be very vain and spoiled. She was known for being able to charm most male creatures, including young Saxtus and Dandin. She was therefore surprised when she failed to impress Rufe Brush, whom she particularly admired. Treerose was also upset when Storm Gullwhacker became briefly the center of attention at the Abbey, and even accused the mousemaid of attacking her, hoping, without success, that Rufe would rescue her.
Although she could be snippy and conceited, Treerose was actually a great cook and helped often in the Abbey kitchen.
When Colonel Clary, Brigadier Thyme, and Hon Rosie organized a final mission to rescue a group of oarslaves taken hostage by searats, Treerose joined Rufe Brush and Oak Tom to assist the hares. During that time the squirrelmaid became a good friend of Hon Rosie. As she witnessed the heroic trio sacrificing their lives in order to save the slaves and protect their escape, Treerose changed almost overnight into a very caring and responsible creature. She cried greatly at the death of Clary and Thyme and helped bury them. She also scouted with Tom and assisted Mother Mellus and Flagg in bringing Rosie back to the Abbey in time to be treated for her injuries.
Treerose and Oak Tom were eventually married and left the Abbey to live in reclusivity in an unknown part of Mossflower Woods.
