Tudd Spinney was the husband of Faith Spinney and a good friend of Burrley mole, with whom he managed the Cellars of Redwall Abbey. He was fond of drinking October ale and behaved immaturely for his long years. He was skilled at croquet. On the Summer of the Lazy Trout, he was afflicted with a mild case of Dryditch Fever. After the death of Burrley, he managed the Cellars with Droony, Burrley's nephew.
