Tugga Bruster was the Log-a-Log of the Northwest Guosim, and the father of Dubble. He was rude, unkind, and a bully. He was even unpopular in his own tribe.
Tugga was no ally of Redwall Abbey or the Guosim; he attempted to steal one of the Doomwyte jewels and injured Aluco, breaking Dwink's foot paw in the process.
When he first arrived at Redwall Abbey, he asked if anybeast had seen his lost son, Dubble. Tugga Bruster acted rude to all Redwallers, namely, Bosie and Rorgus. Bosie, Rorgus, Dwink, Umfry Spikkle, and Samolus Fixa accompanied Tugga Bruster and his shrews while searching for Dubble and Bisky. While searching for the missing pair, the group was ambushed by the Painted Ones. The Gonfelins soon came to their aid. This is when Tugga Bruster killed a surrendering Chigid, earning the wrath of Tala, his mate.
After attempting to steal the Doomwyte jewel and frame Nokko (who humiliated him in a battle of insults), he was banished from the Guosim and was chased by his own tribe in disgrace. He wounded Garul in the shoulder after throwing a rapier at him after he voiced his banishment. Whilest running, the Painted One Tala stabbed Tugga with a sharp piece of wood through his heart from the nearby ditch in revenge for murdering her husband, Chigid. He showed no mercy at the time, as Skipper Rorgus tried to stop him from killing Chigid, but Tugga smashed his face in with his club anyway.
After Tugga Bruster was killed, Dubble abdicated his leadership of the Guosim to Garul.
Tugga Bruster was renowned as a powerful warrior, however in reality, he was a coward and killed helpless adversaries.
