In the spring of 2007, Blur Studio, a Californian Oscar-nominated visual effects and animation studio, crafted a pitch for an animated major motion picture based on the novel Redwall.

Artist Chuck Wojtkiewicz was assigned the task of drawing a panorama scene depicting the great siege of Redwall Abbey by his art director.

Wojtkiewicz created the scene on 11x17 copy paper in Micron pen, which was then scanned and colored in Photoshop.

As is the case with most attempts to adapt Redwall onto the big screen, the rights were not available. Wojtkiewicz did post his developmental artwork to his personal website though, and this is the first time any sort of preliminary art for a potential Redwall film has ever been seen!

I tried contacting Mr. Wojtkiewicz for further details and hosting permissions, however as of press time he has not returned my inquiries. As I cannot host this art here without permission, you'll have to click on through to his personal website to view it, and I promise that when you see the finished product, you will not be disappointed. Give it a look!
