Volcano Island was an island situated in the Western Sea. It was a lush, fruitful place, but was inhabited by savages who captured travelers by laying huge piles of drugged fruit on the beach.

As its name suggests, the island is actually a huge, weakly active (as told by the smoke plumes drifting from it) volcano. It is the only volcano in the Redwall series besides Salamandastron. The vermin and a snake lived inside a large cave in the side of the mountain (this was later sealed off by Luke the Warrior and his companions).
