The Waterhogs were a tribe of hedgehogs lead by Gurgan Spearback. They sailed around the waterways of Mossflower Woods on their rafts. They were on friendly terms with the Guerilla Union of Shrews in Mossflower, and helped to come up with a plan of attack on the Rapscallions along with the Abbey dwellers. The tribe fought in the Battle of the Ridge of a Thousand, and received gold medals with a pearl inset in recognition of their bravery and service.

Unlike most hedgehogs, they spoke in Old English, using words like "thou, thee", etc.
