A Wearet is a sinister cross-breed and possibly mutant creature that appears to be a combination of a weasel, a stoat, and/or a ferret. They are extremely large, primitive, ugly, have little neck, no ears, and have a tendency to slobber a lot.

In MattimeoEdit

Matthias almost died fighting a nameless Wearet who was working as a slavemaster for Malkariss. He was described as having no ears and hardly any neck, with stained teeth and sinew and muscle standing out of his body like cords. His weapon of choice was a net, which was destroyed in battle with Matthias, and a giant stabbing spear. This Wearet has the distinction of being one of the only villains to defeat a Redwall warrior; he defeated Matthias after a brutal battle by knocking him over a ledge. He was killed by Orlando the Axe soon after.

Bragoon and Sarobando died fighting a Wearet named Kharanjul and his horde who were living in caves in a giant gorge.
