Winifred was a female, blue-eyed, leader of the otters. She was an excellent fisher and she helped to defend Redwall Abbey against Cluny the Scourge and his horde in the Late Rose Summer Wars. She also fought against the army of General Ironbeak, whose rooks usually called her a "streamdog", but seemed to be quite afraid of her.
